メジャーからマイナーへ移籍しての作品です。Skip Martinと Odeen Maysのボーカルに加えて Shawn McQuillerが加わりました。クールならではのファンクを基盤に、しっかりとしたコンセプト（UNITE）を持ったアルバムです。この頃になるとほとんどステージに立つことが無くなった Khalis Bayyan の名前がメンバークレジットから無くなっています。(;。;)しかし、しっかりと演奏、作曲、プロデュースとフルに活躍してくれているので、ほっと一安心と言ったところです。クール＆ザ・ギャングにとって Khalis Bayyan は欠かせない存在です。
それにしてもマイナーからという事もあるのか（？）扱いが雑になってきてます。別タイトル（「New York City Kool」）で同じ内容のアルバムが出たり、次に出るライブアルバムとのBOXセット扱いで出てたり・・・（ほとんどバッタもん扱い・・・泣）
